MMC and Country Lodge Rest Home

Country Lodge Rest Home is a large, well run facility in a nice environment in Matamata.  It provides Independent Chalets, Rest Home, Assisted Living and Hospital level care.

There are Registered Nurses who cover each of the areas and they are under the overall management of Jan Grimmer.

MMC Ltd has held a contract with Country Lodge for many years to provide a regular weekly clinic currently run on Thursdays at the facility.  The clinics are run alongside the nurses and the nurses give the GP regular feedback on the care and progress of residents.  MMC utilises a laptop computer with remote access to MMC database for these clinics. Most residents see one designated GP via the clinics, although residents and families can retain their own GP at MMC if they so wish.

Outside clinic times the nurses can refer residents down to MMC for assessments or contact the on call GP after hours.

Medication is managed via a system (introduced by Pharmacies and the Rest Home in discussion with GP’s) called Medimap.
