National Hauora Coalition Primary Health Organisation

Matamata Medical Centre belongs to National Hauora Coalition (NHC) and as a patient at MMC you are also enrolled with National Health Coalition PHO. 

You can only be enrolled at one practice at any one time, hence the importance of enrolling with a new practice when you move to a different area.

The PHO administers the Government funding for your care at MMC and reports back to Waikato DHB on the performance of Matamata Medical Centre by way of health targets, like smoking, child immunisation, cardiac risk assessment and cervical screening for women. NHC PHO also provide other services like ‘Tiakina Te Tangata’, long term condition community nurses (TTT team) and nurses who will visit you at home for child immunisations and cervical screening.
