Extended Opening Hours

In recent times, we have experienced an unprecedented demand on our services at Matamata Medical Centre.  The team have been working hard to ensure our services keep up with this and we have been working through our improvement strategy to provide accessible healthcare for our patients.  We are very aware that prolonged appointment availability or, at times, long waits at the acute clinic puts immense stress on people – particularly if their vulnerability impacts on employment or family responsibilities.

Our team are excited to announce an extension to our opening hours.  From 29 July 2024, we will be open from 8.30am to 7.45pm Monday to Friday and on weekends we will continue to operate an urgent walk-in clinic from 10am to 12pm.  These hours will enable us to provide an urgent walk-in clinic in the evenings, along with some select GP appointments. Our website will be updated with the associated fees and charges.

Along with these extended hours we are continuing our partnership with Ka Ora Telecare to provide after-hours telehealth care services (virtual consults with a General Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner or Paramedic).  From 5pm each weeknight and all weekend, Ka Ora will answer our phones and assist you with the most appropriate care.
